The Institute for Standardization of Moldova (ISM) announces the start of the development of the National Standardization Program for 2026 and invites all interested parties — public authorities, the business community, professional associations, academic institutions, and other users — to submit proposals for standards to be adopted or developed at the national level.
Standards proposed for adoption must align with national policy objectives, support the implementation of European directives, and contribute to removing technical barriers to trade. Each proposal must include a clear justification for the necessity of the standard and outline the benefits it would bring to the economic and social environment.
Proposals may also be submitted for the development of Moldovan standards (SM). These should include arguments regarding practical necessity, industrial and commercial advantages, as well as details about the development process — the responsible technical committee or working group and the sources of financing.
ISM notes that all proposals will be evaluated according to the following acceptance criteria:
- evidence demonstrating a real or potential problem that can be addressed through standardization;
- the relevance of the topic for a broad group of users;
- the standard’s potential impact on the national market and its contribution to the competitiveness of companies, including small and medium-sized enterprises;
the absence of existing European standards with the same scope.
