The director of the Institute for Standardization of Moldova (ISM) Andrian Bunduc had a technical meeting with the international expert Derek Carnegie, in the context of the support given by the USAID MISRA Program to the Ministry of Economic Development and Digitalization in the development of the Guide for exporting to EFTA countries.

During the meeting, the parties addressed topics with reference to the main information/areas to be included in the guide for it to be useful to exporters and the deficiencies faced by companies exporting to EFTA countries. At the same time, the draft content of the Export Guide and the institution’s vision regarding the sectors/products with major potential for export to the markets of the EFTA countries, etc., were presented.

The purpose of the Guide is to facilitate understanding of the scope of the Free Trade Agreement between the Republic of Moldova and the EFTA (European Free Trade Association), signed on June 27, 2023. The Guide will provide a breakdown of the processes that exporters must complete in order to export to Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway and Switzerland, providing examples and clarifications on customs procedures with each country, market placement requirements, sanitary and phytosanitary requirements, intellectual property rights, competition, public procurement, e-commerce, etc.
