At the Institute for Standardization of Moldova, the work session of the technical standardization committee CT 9 took place, dedicated to viticultural and wine products, as well as other food alcoholic products. Several topics were addressed during this meeting:

– Planning the development of the draft of the original Moldovan standard SM 202X “Fresh alcoholic grape must. Specifications”;

– The necessity and importance of developing a new standard to regulate freshly alcoholic grape must, in accordance with the provisions of the relevant normative and legislative acts, was argued;

– The periodic examination of the Moldovan standards was proposed in order to ensure compliance with the regulated requirements:

– SM 269:2008;

– SM 186:2014;

– SM 911:2014;

– SM 319:2015.

Also, the importance of the standardization of viticultural and wine products, as well as other alcoholic food products, was emphasized, in the context of the initiatives of the Government of the Republic of Moldova to harmonize national and European legislation. The need to develop national standards for the methods of checking the regulated indices (optical density, reducing dry extract, tenacious, nitrogenous substances) and for new product groups was discussed, in order to ensure the existence of the necessary reference documents for the assessment of the conformity of products and services, such as and for their use in public procurement.
