The Institute for Standardization of Moldova (ISM) joins the global initiative to mark the International Day without Plastic Bags, celebrated annually on July 3. This day aims to raise awareness among the general public and reduce the use of plastic bags, highlighting their negative impact on the environment.
Plastic plays an essential role in the modern world, but plastic bags are among the biggest polluters of water and land, affecting biodiversity and human health. Plastic waste is not biodegradable and can remain in nature for over 500 years.
ISM emphasizes the importance of using standards to address these challenges and encourages all stakeholders to support efforts to reduce the use of plastic bags and adopt sustainable solutions such as the use of biodegradable materials and efficient recycling. Only through collaboration and awareness can we build a greener and healthier future!
