Technical Committee 74 “Tourism and related services” recently organized a work session, marking an important moment for the future of the tourism sector in the Republic of Moldova. During the meeting, confidence in the leadership of the committee was reaffirmed, its president being re-elected, a sign of continuity and confidence in its strategic vision.

The main topics addressed focused attention on the need to align Moldovan tourism with international and European standards, through concrete measures. Following the discussions, the committee members proposed the development of an activity plan structured in several essential directions:

– Improving and intensifying communication with the business environment in the tourism sector, to support cooperation and sustainable development of the industry;

– Translation and adaptation into Romanian of the already adopted European and international standards, to ensure their implementation at the national level;

– Identification of the relevant international standards to be adopted and promoted within the tourism industry of the Republic of Moldova;

– Connecting the Republic of Moldova to the European technical committee CEN/TC 329 “Tourism services”, as an observer member, to ensure a constant flow of information and innovations in this sector.
