The representatives of the Institute for Standardization of Moldova (ISM) recently met with the OECD representative Olga Olson, who came on a mission to analyze the situation in Moldova in the field of production and processing of stone fruits and nuts. The project is at the stage of defining the activities and the expert’s visit was aimed at identifying a potential collaboration in this sector with ISM.
Discussions focused on the OECD’s support for the development of policies to facilitate green and climate-resilient economic development. Also, emphasis was placed on the importance of environmental standards in horticulture, in the context of climate change adaptation and mitigation in agriculture.
The OECD team emphasized the need to collaborate with the Moldovan Standardization Institute to collect essential information in support of the project. This meeting was considered an important step in promoting exports and environmental standards in the agricultural field.
