On the occasion of the International Day of Persons with Disabilities, the Institute for Standardization of Moldova (ISM) reaffirms its commitment to promoting inclusion and accessibility for persons with disabilities through the application of international standards. This day, marked annually on December 3 and established by the UN General Assembly in 1992, highlights the challenges faced by persons with disabilities and contributes to the creation of an inclusive, equitable and sustainable environment.
“The Moldovan Institute for Standardization is dedicated to implementing standards that facilitate accessibility and inclusion for persons with disabilities. These tools are essential to building a society that respects the dignity and rights of every citizen, contributing to a better future for all,” said Andrian Bunduc, Acting Director of ISM.
By implementing international standards, ISM contributes to the elimination of physical and social barriers that can limit the participation of persons with disabilities in social, economic and cultural life. At the same time, standards play a crucial role in promoting equal opportunities and respecting the principle of “Leaving no one behind” of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
