Representatives of the Institute for Standardization of Moldova participated in a Workshop organized by the State Agency for Intellectual Property (AGEPI), dedicated to geographical indications (GIs) in the dairy sector. The event was held at the AGEPI headquarters and brought together intellectual property specialists, representatives of public authorities and the private sector, as well as local producers interested in the protection of products through geographical indications.
The workshop included thematic sessions focused on the procedure for registration and recognition of geographical indications, applicable legal requirements, quality control and traceability of dairy products protected by GIs. The discussions also addressed the commitments of the Republic of Moldova under international agreements, mechanisms for monitoring and enforcing rights to geographical indications.
The workshop was organized in collaboration with the National Association of Milk and Dairy Products Producers “LAPTE”, the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry (MAIA), the National Food Safety Agency (ANSA) and the State Inspectorate for Supervision of Non-Food Products and Consumer Protection (ISSPNPC), with the support of the Moldovan-Swiss Intellectual Property Project (MSIP).
