In the context of the national information campaign “Save energy – pay less”, launched by the Government of the Republic of Moldova, the Institute for Standardization of Moldova (ISM) emphasizes the essential role of standards in energy efficiency and environmental protection.

Standardization offers concrete solutions for reducing energy consumption by implementing correct operating, maintenance and efficiency practices of equipment. A relevant example is the SM CEN/TS 17607:2021 standard, which establishes specific requirements for the operation, servicing, maintenance, repair and decommissioning of refrigeration equipment, air conditioning and heat pump equipment and heat pumps equipment containing flammable refrigerants. The adoption of this standard supports users and specialists in the field to optimize energy consumption and reduce the risks associated with the improper use of these systems.

ISM encourages economic agents and consumers to align with the requirements of modern standards, thus contributing to the efficiency of energy consumption and the reduction of environmental impact. By applying these standards, the Republic of Moldova can advance towards a more sustainable and economically advantageous energy system for citizens.
