On February 20, we mark the World Day of Social Justice, an opportunity to reflect on the importance of equity and inclusion in all aspects of social and economic life. The Institute for Standardization of Moldova (ISM) reaffirms its commitment to promoting standards that facilitate accessibility and equal opportunities for all citizens.

Social justice is the foundation of a prosperous and equitable society, and standards play an essential role in ensuring this balance. SM EN 17161:2019 is an eloquent example of a standard that supports the concept of “Design for All”, promoting accessibility in all areas – from infrastructure, to services and products. It contributes to the elimination of barriers and ensuring an environment where no one is discriminated against or disadvantaged, regardless of age, disability, economic status or origin.

The Institute for Standardization of Moldova encourages all stakeholders – from authorities and organizations to the private sector – to adopt and implement standards that support equity and equal access. Through standardization, we can build together a more inclusive future, based on respect, equal opportunities and progress for all.
