Every year, on March 5th, World Energy Efficiency Day is observed—a global initiative launched in 1998 to emphasize the importance of the sustainable and responsible use of energy resources. This day highlights innovative solutions and strategies aimed at reducing environmental impact and contributing to the transition towards a green economy.

The Institute for Standardization of Moldova (ISM) plays a crucial role in this process by promoting international standards that support energy efficiency and resource consumption reduction. Among these is SM EN ISO 50001 for energy management, which provides organizations with a reference framework for optimizing energy consumption, reducing costs, and minimizing their environmental footprint.
