Representatives of the Institute for Standardization of Moldova (ISM) participated in the PFPT Merceology Students’ Conference on the topic “Counterfeiting of Goods in the Consumer Market – A Growing Phenomenon in the Current Economy,” organized by the National College of Commerce of ASEM. The event was held in the context of World Consumer Rights Day, observed annually on March 15, with the aim of raising public awareness about the importance of knowing and protecting consumer rights.
The conference brought together students from the “Merceology” professional training program from several educational institutions in the Republic of Moldova:
- National College of Commerce of ASEM
- Agroindustrial College of Ungheni
- Agroindustrial College of Râșcani
During the event, Ms. Irina Mustea, Head of the Business Support Center in Standardization at ISM, was a special guest, providing participants with essential information about the role of standards in combating product counterfeiting. Additionally, the conference benefited from the expertise of Ms. Izabela Boros, a professor of merceology disciplines at “M. Viteazul” High School in Oradea, Romania, who presented academic perspectives on the prevention and combating of commercial fraud.
