The Institute for Standardization of Moldova (ISM) had the great pleasure of hosting a study visit from a group of students from the Agro-Industrial College in Ungheni. The young people, who are nearing the completion of their studies, expressed a keen interest in the field of standardization, with many of their thesis projects focused on the application and promotion of standards.

The purpose of the visit was to familiarize the students with the activity of the Institute for Standardization of Moldova, to understand the role of standards in the development of economic and social sectors, and to deepen their knowledge of the processes of developing, adopting, and implementing national and international standards.

ISM representatives presented the institution’s mission, the legal framework for standardization, and concrete examples of standards relevant to the agro-industrial sector. Discussions also covered the impact of standards on product quality, consumer safety, and economic competitiveness.
