The Institute for Standardization of Moldova (ISM) took part, on 10–12 February 2026, in the kick-off event and planning workshop of the bilateral PTB project “Strengthening quality infrastructure for EU accession and competitiveness in Moldova”, held in Chisinau.
The project, to be implemented during 2026–2029, aims to strengthen the national quality infrastructure (QI) in the context of the European Union accession process and to enhance the competitiveness of the economy of the Republic of Moldova.
During the meeting, representatives of quality infrastructure institutions, the Ministry of Economic Development and Digitalization (MDED), and PTB discussed the development of the QI Programme, the establishment of strategic objectives, the definition of institutional responsibilities, and the planning of activities for 2026, including:
− requirements and criteria for developing the QI Programme in the context of EU accession;
− defining the objectives and vision for Moldova’s quality infrastructure;
− establishing institutional responsibilities and cooperation mechanisms;
− identifying the activities necessary to achieve the project’s milestones and indicators;
− engaging the business community and capitalizing on best practices in the provision of QI services.
