ISM delivered a lecture on standardization at the National College of Commerce of ASEM

On 17 February 2026, the Institute for Standardization of Moldova (ISM) delivered a thematic lecture entitled “The Benefits and Importance of Standardization in the Republic of Moldova” at the Colegiul Național de Comerț al ASEM, with the participation of students and teaching staff.

During the event, general concepts of standardization were presented, along with the national legal framework and the process of harmonization with European norms, as well as the role of Technical Standardization Committees in the development of standards.

Participants were also informed about the Standards Shop – www.shop.standard.md –  and the standards relevant to the field of merchandise science, with emphasis on quality, safety and labeling requirements for goods.

The Institute for Standardization of Moldova encourages young people to deepen their knowledge in the field of standardization, actively engage in promoting a culture of quality, and use standards as essential tools for professional development, competitiveness and European integration.
