Representatives of the Institute for Standardization of Moldova (ISM) participated in the National Conference for students and teachers from vocational and technical education institutions entitled “Aspects of Product Counterfeiting on the Consumer Market of the Republic of Moldova.” The event, organized by the National College of Commerce of ASEM, was held in a hybrid format in Chișinău.

During the conference, studies conducted by students and teachers were presented, focusing on the identification of counterfeit products and their impact on consumers and the market. Among the topics discussed were methods for detecting coffee adulteration, analysis of counterfeit watches, verification of caviar authenticity, and the identification of methods used to falsify sour cream, among others.

Participants also examined ways to detect counterfeit detergents, discussing the risks that such non-compliant products may pose to consumers and to the environment.

In their remarks, ISM representatives emphasized the role of standardization in preventing product counterfeiting, highlighting the importance of applying standards to ensure the quality, conformity, and authenticity of goods on the market.
