Establishment of Technical Committee TC 82 “Light Industry”

On 21 May 2026, the Institute for Standardization of Moldova organized the inaugural meeting of Technical Committee TC 82 “Light Industry”, marking a new step in the development and strengthening of standardization activities in this sector.

During the meeting, the role, responsibilities, and functions of a technical standardization committee were presented, as well as the opportunities for participation in the work of European technical committees once ISM obtains full membership status in CEN and CENELEC.

The participants approved the establishment of Technical Committee TC 82 “Light Industry” and defined its scope of activity and objectives, aimed at supporting the development of the sector and aligning it with European practices.

The Chairperson of the committee and the coordinators of the working groups were also elected, and their responsibilities and duties for organizing and coordinating technical activities were established.

Through the establishment of TC 82 “Light Industry”, the Institute for Standardization of Moldova continues to strengthen the national quality infrastructure and facilitate the alignment of the industrial sector with European requirements and best practices, thus contributing to the increased competitiveness of Moldovan products on both domestic and international markets.
