On 5 June 2026, the members of Technical Committee CT 1 “Library Science. Information. Documentation” convened for a working meeting to discuss key matters related to the committee’s activities and standardization priorities for the upcoming period.

During the meeting, participants addressed several issues aimed at strengthening the committee’s work, including the re-election of the committee secretary and the update of its membership through the appointment of new representatives from member organizations. These changes are intended to ensure active and representative participation of experts involved in the development and adoption of standards in the field.

An important item on the agenda was the initiative to translate a standard into Romanian, a step that will enhance the accessibility of standardization documents and facilitate their application by professionals in the fields of library science, information, and documentation.

The committee members also examined the opportunity to adopt international standards relevant to the sector. The proposals submitted reflect the professional community’s commitment to aligning with international best practices and supporting the modernization and development of information services.

The Institute for Standardization of Moldova encourages the active involvement of all interested stakeholders in the work of technical committees, contributing to the development of a relevant national standardization system that meets the needs of society and the economy.
