During the meeting of Technical Standardization Committee CT 3, several topics important to the committee’s work and the development of the standardization process in this field were discussed.

The chair of CT 3, “Tobacco, Tobacco Products, and Electronic Cigarettes,” was reappointed.

The CT 3 Work Plan for 2026 was approved, setting out the main objectives and courses of action for the coming period.

The following European technical committees were presented: CEN/SS H22 – Lighters for smokers; CEN/TC 401 – Cigarettes with reduced ignition propensity; CEN/TC 437 – Electronic cigarettes and e-liquids.

TC 3’s affiliation with these committees will become possible once it obtains full membership status, offering increased opportunities to participate in the development and harmonization of European standards in this field.

Through these actions, TC 3 reaffirms its commitment to contributing to the development and alignment of national standardization with European best practices.
