On 15–16 September 2026, representatives of LVS – the national standardization
body of Latvia, and TILDE are conducting a working visit to the Institute for
Standardization of Moldova (ISM) within the framework of the project “Support to
the National Standardization Institution of Moldova in the development of an AI-
based solution for the translation of standards”.
The visit includes working sessions focused on the stages of developing an
Artificial Intelligence (AI)-based solution designed to support the standards
translation process.
The implementation of such a solution aims to increase the efficiency of the
translation process, ensure terminological consistency and improve translation
quality, while also optimizing resources and reducing the time required to prepare
Romanian-language versions of standards.
The development of the AI solution represents an important step in the
digitalization and modernization of ISM’s activities, enabling the use of innovative
technologies to support the standardization process. The solution will also
contribute to facilitating users’ access to standards and strengthening ISM’s
capacity to meet the requirements of a modern standardization system aligned with
European practices.
The project is funded by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Latvia
and implemented with the support of LVS, in cooperation with TILDE, a company
with expertise in language technologies and Artificial Intelligence-based solutions.
