Strengthening the national quality infrastructure system and its contribution to enhancing economic competitiveness were the main topics of the technical meeting organized by the Institute for Standardization of Moldova (ISM), with the support of the regional project on strengthening Quality Infrastructure (QI) for European integration, implemented by the Physikalisch-Technische Bundesanstalt (PTB) of Germany.

The meeting brought together representatives of the Ministry of Economic Development and Digitalization (MDED), the Institute for Standardization of Moldova (ISM), the National Institute of Metrology (NIM) and the National Accreditation Centre (MOLDAC).

Main topics addressed:

Germany’s experience in cooperation in the field of Quality Infrastructure. German experts presented models of interinstitutional cooperation developed by DKE and PTB, highlighting how effective coordination among Quality Infrastructure institutions can contribute to the development and competitiveness of economic sectors.

Exchange of experience and knowledge transfer. During the discussions, participants examined the German experience and identified mechanisms and solutions that could be adapted and applied in the Republic of Moldova to strengthen institutional cooperation and improve the efficiency of activities in the field of Quality Infrastructure.

Activities under the PTB-funded project will continue throughout this week, with sessions dedicated to the participation of the Republic of Moldova in the activities of the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC), dialogue with the academic community, as well as ISM’s participation in the Moldova Electronics Forum.

These activities contribute to strengthening the national Quality Infrastructure and supporting the integration of the Republic of Moldova into European Union value chains.
