On 20 October 2026, the Institute for Standardization of Moldova (ISM) held a
meeting to reorganize Technical Committee TC 48 “Information Technology and
Electronic Communications”, focusing on strengthening the committee’s activities
and preparing for more active participation in European standardization.
During the meeting, a new committee secretary was elected, and new interested
parties were identified as potential contributors to the committee’s work, bringing
in experts and relevant expertise in information technology and electronic
communications.
Committee members were informed about the upcoming connection to European
Technical Committees for Standardization, starting in January 2027. They were
also introduced to the OSD platform, including its purpose, access procedures and
use in standardization activities.
The reorganization of TC 48 represents an important step towards strengthening
cooperation among interested parties and preparing the national standardization
community for new opportunities to participate in the European standardization
process.
ISM encourages experts and interested organizations to actively engage in the
work of technical committees, contributing to the development of a standardization
system aligned with European priorities and developments.
