On 21 October 2026, the Institute for Standardization of Moldova (ISM) welcomed
students from the Academy of Economic Studies of Moldova (ASEM) as part of
the “Students – The Future of Standardization” programme.
During the visit, students learned about ISM’s activities, the standardization
process, and the importance of standards in facilitating trade, improving processes,
and increasing business competitiveness.
Particular attention was given to standards in the food sector, including their
implementation, benefits for producers and consumers, and their role in improving
product quality and enhancing the efficiency of food industry operations.
Students also learned about ISM’s educational initiatives and activities dedicated to
young people, which aim to raise awareness of standardization and encourage
future professionals to engage in this field.
Through such initiatives, ISM helps strengthen cooperation between academia and
the professional community, promoting standards as valuable tools for business
development and a competitive economy.
