World Standardization Day is celebrated every year on October 14 as a tribute to the efforts of thousands of experts worldwide who collaborate within the IEC, ISO and ITU to develop International Standards that facilitate trade, the spread and dissemination of technological knowledge.

World Standards Day, celebrated this year with the slogan “Shared vision for a better world”, provides an opportunity to raise awareness and facilitate the perception of the importance of standardization. It is a collaborative initiative of the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC), the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) and the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), which each year develops campaign elements to empower the global community.

The Institute of Standardization of Moldova (ISM) is part of the big family of the standardization community and, through competence, selflessness and professionalism, contributes to the robust growth of the national economy and the improvement of competitiveness internally and externally, in accordance with the objectives of European integration of the Republic of Moldova.

ISM has developed strong lines of international collaboration, the entire standards system being built on collaboration. We work together and, with the support and assistance of international partners, we are happy to provide the citizens and the economy of our country with solutions to meet the challenges of sustainability.

And the value of the implementation of standards can be clearly seen in the development of successful businesses, in raising the quality of life of citizens and registering the national economy on an upward trend.

There are many experts around the world working hard to set quality standards, and World Standards Day is just one way to honor and celebrate their efforts.
