Between 10.10.2022 and 14.10.2022, the Standardization Institute of Latvia organized a work platform attended by experts from Georgia and the Republic of Moldova. The project, from which the Standardization Bodies benefited, provides for the development of cooperative relations between the three institutions on the aspect of obtaining constant progress in the field of standardization and the promotion of good practices, which will create favorable conditions for ensuring the effective application of standards by the citizens of the Republic of Latvia, Republic of Moldova and Georgia.
Within the framework of the work platform, study visits were carried out to the Center for the Protection of Consumer Rights, the Investment Agency and the Ministry of Economy of Latvia, in connection with the development of support tools for SMEs regarding the evaluation requirements in the EU in order to develop business competitiveness locally on the EU market.
At the same time, the study visits were directed towards various activities that will boost the exchange of information regarding the application of European laws, regulations, standards and recommendations by SMEs, the short-term exchange of experts with a view to mutual professional development in specific sectors, the organization activities focused on promoting the field of standardization, cooperation in order to organize projects of common interest for both institutions at regional and national level etc.
