The Institute from Standardization of Moldova (ISM) held a public seminar dedicated to SMEs from the Republic of Moldova with the generic title “The role of standards in improving the export capacity of SMEs on the EU market”.

The seminar was attended by representatives of relevant ministries from the Republic of Moldova, public authorities, associations, SMEs, the academic environment, with the following topics on the agenda:

1) Regulations, standards and practices to facilitate trade and business with the EU;

2) Assessment of conformity and impact of standards on manufacturers;

3) The role of standardization for SMEs;

4) Mechanisms offered by ISM for the implementation of standards by SMEs;

5) Challenges faced by SMEs when introducing products to the EU market, as well as the mechanisms of the Organization for the Development of Entrepreneurship in supporting SMEs in this respect.

The public seminar was held with the support of the Standardization Organization of Latvia (LVS), through the project “Strengthening the capacity of the national standardization institutions of Georgia and Moldova to establish support tools for SMEs in the assessment of conformity on the EU single market”, in collaboration with the Organization for the Development of Entrepreneurship.
