From October 3 to 7 in Dubai, the 85th General Assembly of the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) is being held, entitled ”Leading the Fourth Industrial Revolution by Standardisation”.

The event aims to reaffirm the commitment to use the technologies of the Fourth Industrial Revolution in efforts to realize the full potential of the industrial sector.

IEC is a international, non-profit organization based on quality infrastructure and international trade in electrical and electronic products. It brings together more than 170 countries and provides a global, neutral and independent standardization platform for 20,000 globally experts.

The electricity and electronics industry has an important role to play as a technical facilitator of the ongoing digitalisation of the global economy.
