Recently (October 28, 2021) took place the International Standards Summit for People, Planet and Prosperity, this year entitled „G20 Standardization Organizations Contributing to Sustainability Goals”. During this event, representatives of governments, standardization bodies, industry, academia, think tanks and civil society exchanged views on how the institutional frameworks of standardization bodies can help governments and regulators turn policies in concrete action towards a more sustainable future.
The world’s leading standards bodies have issued a joint declaration calling on all countries to recognize, support and adopt international standards in order to contribute directly to the three pillars: People, Planet and Prosperity.
The aim of the summit is to stimulate dialogue between international organizations and their members and to present the ongoing activities carried out to meet the global challenges.
The virtual event was co-hosted by the Italian Standardisation Bodies UNI (Ente Italiano di Normazione) and CEI (Comitato Elettrotechnico Italiano), together with the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC), International Organization for Standardization (ISO) and International Telecommunication Union (ITU).
